About Me

My photo
I'm an Army wife and aspiring author, published by Evernight Publishing. I primarily write M/M, but I'm starting to branch out. I'm not very good at technology, but I'm hoping this blog gives me the opportunity to communicate with other authors and readers. My life is kept interesting by my soldier, Ringo the chihuahua, and all the amazing people that I consider friends. I also work entirely too much as a coach at a local gym, a caregiver at a church nursery, and a freelance baker.

Manga and Romance

Hello, blog hoppers!

I'm excited for yet another blog hop. My book, Hero, just released and so far it's gotten a few really nice reviews that I'm quite proud of. Don't forget that there's a grand prize with this hop, so be sure to comment for a chance to win awesome stuff!

Today, I want to talk about how I got started writing M/M romance. I'll spare some of the dirty details, because my mom follows my blog. Ha...ha...

Anyway...

I've been writing for a long time now and a few years ago, I decided to try something totally new to me. I decided to write a love story with two male characters. Surprisingly, I wasn't all that bad. I started posting my writing to Literotica and people actually liked it. I was shocked. I'm still shocked.

So it grew from that. I started reading other people's work and that's how I met some pretty amazing authors. That's when I learned what yaoi was. I watched a few of them and read a few. I had a short addiction to slash fanfics. It was intense and it all got me even more attached to what I was writing.

It just kept going until one day I decided I'd try to get published. After one rejection, Evernight Publishing picked me up and here we are today.

M/M romance will always have a special spot in my heart. I have strayed from it a bit with my second novella Snow White and the Hitman, but that was just me being young and stupid. I'll always love the gay boys and I will always write about them.

Everyone say hi to my mom in the comments, leave your e-mail, follow my blog and I'll pick a winner to get a free PDF copy of Hero!

OK, Mom, now you have to stop reading because there's gonna be some possibly NSFW pictures.

  5. Hi K! Thanks for sharing! Although yaoi didn't have a direct influence in me being an MM Romance writer, I did always enjoy it, and this hop is teaching me things I didn't even know about! Hope you have a great weekend! Oh, and hi K's mom!

  11. First of all, hello to Mama Cat (Kitten's mom). My own mom, if she were still alive, would be shocked that I enjoy m/m romances. Manga, I'm just getting into, but my own kids like it. My daughter was the first person to tell me about yaoi which she enjoys. She's also the one who informed me of the chibi appearance where the characters temporarily look like children- sort of like your pictures.

  12. Hi Mom! Jk, hello Kitten's mommy, pleasure to meet you. My mother is not a fan of what I read at all. She lets me have my smut though. Anyways, I think I've said this before, but just in case, congrats on Hero coming out! And thanks for the yummy pics, I love Okane Ga Nai and Sensitive Pornograph especially! Thanks for participating!!

My mama just gave me a really strange look when I talked about a book I was reading... lol! It was guys, shifters and vampires... ;)
